The History of the Still Life: Creating Romance in the Everyday
The still life is born out of an innate human need to not only capture but to curate and control our surroundings. As much as a still life may seem...
Thank you for visiting the La Boheme website, we’re so happy to have you here.
Here is some information you may like to know.
All the items that are currently on our site are vintage or antique and their condition will reflect their age. While some pieces are more time worn than others, we will only choose pieces where we genuinely believe this adds to their charm or at the very least doesn’t detract from an otherwise unique and beautiful piece.
Any flaws will be included in the description and will be documented in the images. So please read the description and check all the images before deciding whether you would like to buy.
Delivery is with Royal Mail and the cost depends on the size and weight of the item. You will be shown the relevant delivery options at checkout. You can find out more about our delivery option here.
As a small business, I don’t send out items every day, so please allow extra time for your order to reach you.
However, if you have a specific delivery requirement and need your item quicker, please email me hello@laboheme.uk and I will do my best to accommodate your needs.
There are some items in our collection which, due to their size, age and fragile nature, will need to be quoted for depending on your location. Please get in touch by emailing hello@laboheme.uk for a quotation. We will aim to give you at least 2 options that will give you a choice of cost and speed to get your antique item to you in perfect condition, within your preferred time frame for the best cost.
If you live within Greater Manchester, all items can be delivered for £15.
Or can be collected, by appointment from Heaton Moor free of charge.
If you live in Heaton Moor, you will be eligible for free personal delivery. Please select this option at checkout.
Alternatively, we periodically offer collections from Newark. Please get in touch to discuss.

Refunds
Due to the size, age and fragile nature of a lot of our items it can sometimes be a logistical feat, getting them to you. As a small business we want to make sure you’re really happy with your purchase and reduce the need for any returns. We have tried our hardest to accurately photograph and describe each item, so you can be clear on what it is you are getting but we know it isn’t alway easy buying online, especially antique and vintage items that will have signs of age and use.
If you are thinking of buying an item and have any questions, or would like any more pictures or videos sending to help you make your decision, please get in touch hello@laboheme.uk and we will be happy to talk through your chosen item, so you can be confident in your purchase.
We hope you love your La Boheme purchase but if something isn’t quite right, please get in touch hello@laboheme.uk within 14 days and we are happy to chat and come up with a solution.
You will need a returns number to send back, so please don’t send anything back without getting in touch first.
Please note we are unable to cover the costs of returns postage or refund delivery charges.
All items must be returned in their original packaging and sent back via an appropriate courrier. Items must reach us in the same condition as they were sent out. When returning an item, the buyer is responsible for any damage in transit, so we suggest using a reputable courier with appropriate insurance.
Please note that this applies to online orders only. Any items delivered or collected in person, must be inspected at the time and will not be eligible for a refund.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch hello@laboheme.uk
