Behind the Scenes of The Shoot

Behind the Scenes of The Shoot

Shooting our beautiful collection was probably the thing I enjoyed most about launching the website. It really felt like vision coming to life. I was so lucky to have my super talented and like minded friend Kathryn Taylor shoot the Collection. Her talent, exceptional eye, attention to detail and unwavering patience created the beautiful images I had envisaged.

Preparing for the shoot, I had collated a Pinterest board full of gorgeous imagery - that was the easy part - how was I going to translate the Pinterest dream into my back bedroom reality. Yes, we were going to shoot the collection in the back bedroom of my terraced house.

So off I went to Facebook Market place and spent hours trawling the listings for the French plaster fireplace that was at the heart of the vision. After many, many, many conversations between sellers and man with a van, the fireplace arrived at it was perfect.

I got to work painting the room in the colours of the Boheme brand. I used a Atelier Ellis Cass on one wall and Farrow and Ball Dimity on the rest, which has the perfect soft nude feel to it. Not too pink and not too beige. The two colour backgrounds gave slightly different tones to give us variety in our shots.

I then enlisted Dan, the wonderful magician, that is the Ancoats florist to create an arrangement for the fireplace. I could have cried when I opened the door to her on the morning of the shoot. She had gone above and beyond and the flowers were honestly the most beautiful I have ever seen.

Kathryn and I then set to work. Work - who am I kidding, it was the most fun filled day, working together to bring a vision to life.

I can't thank Kathryn and Dan enough for the part they played in making La Boheme happen.

Here's a little sneak peek from behind the scenes on the day.
