Quality & Authenticity
Handmade Gilt Frames
Our frames are handmade in Britain by a single master craftsman who meticuluously crafts the frames using traditional and authentic 18th century composition methods.
The frames are solid wood, hand carved and glued with traditional glue before being sanded to perfection.
The decorative process begins by hand applying authentic plaster mouldings. The mouldings themselves have been made from original 18th century boxwood moulds.
The frames are then hand gilded with dutch metal gold leaf which is oil guilded and applied by brush.
The Frames are then button polished to seal the gold and waxed to tone the gold and give protection.

A handcrafted solid wood frame with plaster moulded decorative detail. Hand finished with composite gold leaf.
02. The Francoise Frame
An 18th century Louis XIV style French frame hand crafted using traditional methods from 1700s.
03. The Eugenie Frame
An 18th C French style handcrafted solid wood frame with plaster moulded decorative detail. Hand finished with composite gold leaf.
04. The Genevieve Frame
A handcrafted solid wood antique style frame finished black matt paint with hand gilt gold insert

The Collection
Quality & Authenticity
Gallerie La Boheme has been developed and created with the highest quality and authenticity in mind. From the materials we use and the processes involved, we aim to emulate the original intention in which the paintings were created as well as the look and feel.
Prints art backed on high quality acid free board whether they are framed or not.
We have chosen not to glaze our frames in order to be as true to the original paintings as possible. Instead we protect the artwork with a protective fine art spray.

Each of the artworks has been recreated from an original antique oil painting from the La Boheme archive.

Introducing
Fine Art Board Prints
Our artwork is printed on the highest quality fine art paper. We use museum quality, archival papers for the highest age resistance and premium quality results
The paper we use is a textured paper that we have chosen to give the most authentic finish the print. The unique textured surface gives outstanding depth and a three dimensional effect which showcases the artwork sympathetically to the original oil paintings from which they were created and retains the splendour of the original piece.
The print is then backed onto a 2mm rigid card board for both protection and also to retain the tangible feel of the original piece.
The prints are finished with a protective fine art spray to fix the pigments and to protect the artwork from uv light, fading and scratches.
The board prints can be displayed as they are, propped up on a fireplace or shelf or professionally framed in either one of our bespoke handmade frames or to frame yourself.
